This memo is provided to highlight the very positive experience that the Memphis Logistics Center (MLC) had with Brian Wallin and Dan Littlefield of Modality Solutions.  Due to resource constraints and mounting quality issues the MLC developed a need to seek additional process engineering support specifically to address nonconformances, CAPA’s, and process redesign in our Cold Chain operation.
Based off of past experience we allocated 4 weeks for Brian and Dan to get acclimated to our processes, issues and quality systems.  We found that within the first week they were already working within our quality systems and were well acclimated within 10 days.  They worked very well with our Quality, Operations and Process Engineering teams who continue to have very positive feedback about their value add to our operation.
We immediately began to see a significant improvement in the reduction of CAPA’s and Nonconformance’s as well as Process Redesign, SOP changes, and the subsequent Training to implement the changes.  They did a great job in being persistent with our organizations in the coordination of changes and training.  They utilized some very creative techniques in the development of training which we will adopt going forward.
They established a weekly debrief meeting to cover their accomplishments for the past week, align on priorities for the coming week, and provide transparency and solicit feedback as to their travel schedules.
Unlike most of my experiences over the past 30 years with consultants I can easily answer the question, “were Brain and Dan value added for the time and dollars spent, ABSOLUTELY!”
