Bristol-Myers Squibb

Qualifying frozen, deep-frozen, and cryogenic thermal shippers using a dry ice sublimation rate study.

Challenge

BMS partnered with Modality Solutions to qualify containers ranging from refrigerated (4C to
-18C) to deep-frozen (-30C to -50C) to cryogenic (-46C to -101C).

Objectives

  1. Characterize dry ice sublimation rates
  2. Expand scope of characterization to include effects of orientation
  3. Conduct characterization for deep-frozen shipping containers
  4. Qualify containers
  5. Physical integrity studies on shipping container systems

Results

See how the Modality Solutions team investigated the unexpected temperature drops seen in the field and how they helped BMS qualify their containers.
