Modality Solutions Achieves ISO 9001:2015 Recertification, Expands Certification Scope to Greenwood Laboratory

Modality Solutions has successfully achieved recertification to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining consistent levels of quality, compliance, and operational excellence across all areas of the business. The recertification process, conducted by Intertek, took several months of preparation and culminated in a comprehensive two-day external audit.

As part of the process, Modality’s Quality Management System (QMS) underwent an extensive review, including documentation updates, process audits across departments, and verification that its practices remain fully aligned with ISO 9001:2015 standards. While the core ISO requirements remained consistent, this cycle placed greater emphasis on evidence of risk-based thinking, management review effectiveness, and the use of measurable performance metrics. The team also strengthened how goals and outcomes are documented and connected across the Quality Manual, SOPs, and departmental dashboards.

A major milestone of this recertification was the inclusion of Modality’s Greenwood, Indiana, laboratory in the certification scope for the first time. This addition reflects the lab’s complete integration within Modality’s quality system and demonstrates the scalability of the company’s quality framework across multiple operational sites.

To prepare for the audit, Modality’s quality team conducted comprehensive internal audits, refreshed documentation for clarity and alignment, and led cross-functional training to ensure every department understood its quality responsibilities. New document-control and metrics-tracking tools were implemented to enhance transparency and streamline performance reviews.

The team also introduced several innovations during this certification cycle, including enhanced internal audit and management review structures, integrated site-level dashboards, and standardized change-control language across systems. These updates strengthen oversight and make it easier for teams to connect day-to-day operations with broader organizational quality goals.
